NT Aboriginal Tourism Business Accelerator program returns for second round

Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) and the Northern Territory Government (NTG) have announced the return of the NT Aboriginal Tourism Business Accelerator Program, set to begin in February 2025.

This initiative invites Aboriginal Territorians and NT-based majority Aboriginal-owned businesses to apply for a program that offers targeted business and tourism training, mentorship, and industry connections to help develop sustainable tourism ventures.

Following the success of the inaugural program, which saw seven participants grow and enhance their tourism offerings, the 2025 Accelerator promises to equip more Aboriginal entrepreneurs with practical skills and support. Supported by the Australian Government’s Strategic Indigenous Tourism Project funding program, this initiative fosters participation in the tourism industry while contributing to local economic growth.

Valerie Smith, Executive Director of Tourism NT, said the program offers a transformative opportunity for Aboriginal tourism ventures.

“The Northern Territory is a premier destination for unique Aboriginal tourism experiences. By nurturing Aboriginal tourism ventures, we’re celebrating culture, driving economic growth, creating jobs, and strengthening local communities,” she said.
