Destination NT: Connect, Collaborate, Celebrate

Published

Destination NT is a dynamic new initiative that brings together key events to celebrate, grow and strengthen the Northern Territory (NT) visitor economy.

Destination NT sets a new direction by bringing together key events into a high-impact program designed to connect businesses, government and key community stakeholders from across the NT visitor economy.

Destination NT will be held from 4 to 8 November 2025 in Darwin and include:

  • a new public facing session to encourage a broader community conversation around tourism and events contribution to liveability, job creation and economic growth across the NT
  • an Annual Conference element
  • Aboriginal Tourism Forum
  • Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Awards, and
  • sector specific forums workshops and networking opportunities.

The theme for 2025 is Connect, Collaborate, Celebrate:

  • Connect: strengthen connections between industry, community and government.
  • Collaborate: build learning, capacity, partnerships and a unified vision for the NT visitor economy.
  • Celebrate: recognise impact and excellence across the NT visitor economy.

Destination NT will extend the conversation to the community with a session to highlight the role of tourism and events in economic development, building community pride and enhancing the NT unique lifestyle.

There will be new sessions to explore how to unlock the opportunities presented by different sectors including military tourism, major events, cruise, domestic education, aviation, vibrant food and drink and business events.

Destination NT has been developed in response to industry feedback and provides a refreshed approach to engagement and development, creating space for shared learning, stronger networks and greater collective impact.

Destination NT will raise awareness around tourism and events contribution to liveability, job creation and economic growth across the NT.
