Thankyou to our 2025 volunteer campground hosts
We would like to send a huge thankyou to the 2025 NT Parks and Wildlife volunteer campground hosts for a fantastic season. Invitations to apply to be a 2026 volunteer is now open.
NT Parks and Wildlife would like to thank our 2025 volunteer campground hosts for another fantastic season.
From the beginning of May till the end of September, volunteers ranging in age from 8 to 78 donned welcoming smiles and snazzy blue vests to become superstar tourism ambassadors in busy campgrounds across the NT.
Volunteer campground hosts help keep campgrounds clean and tidy, but their most important task is providing visitors with the information they need to have a memorable and safe holiday.
Each contributing between one and 14 weeks of their own time. Our 2025 volunteers were a dedicated crew, much appreciated by park rangers who are often busy with critical land management tasks over the cooler months of the year.
Volunteer campground hosts are busy for a maximum of 4 hours a day, leaving them plenty of time to explore. With 9 hosting campgrounds in 7 different parks and reserves there’s enough variety to keep even the more experienced traveller interested.
While many hosts say they volunteer simply to slow down, spend time in beautiful locations, meet people and give back while they travel, there are also many other perks to hosting.
Volunteer campground hosts receive:
- a free Annual NT Parks Pass
- Online Booking System vouchers
- admission to Alice Springs Desert Park and Territory Wildlife Park
- plus some NT Parks and Wildlife souvenirs to take home.
